Wiza Jane

Realtor®

Hello, my name is Wiza (pronounced wee-za). I was born in Grande Prairie, AB, moved to Lethbridge, AB when I was 14 and moved to Calgary at 26 to begin my real estate career. Though I haven’t lived in Calgary for the majority of my life, I would visit frequently when I lived in Lethbridge as it’s only a two hour drive. I knew the city well, loved it, and that’s how I knew I wanted to live and work here.

I attended Lethbridge College in 2013 and received my diploma in Multimedia Production. This helped me develop a unique set of creative skills and everything digital media, including marketing, graphic design, digital video and audio production, 2D and 3D animation, interactive presentation, digital photography, branding, web design, and communication arts.

My job history has always been sales, from clothes and shoes to high-end jewellery. For the past 5 years, however, I’ve worked as a receptionist for top salons in both Lethbridge and Calgary. This allowed me to establish more personal connections with customers as I wasn’t just a sales associate to people anymore; I was also the trusty coordinator of all of their precious appointments. I was extremely organized, prompt, and I became reliable to them. I saw most people every 4-6 weeks, and realized I love having these genuine connections with people, as opposed to just selling them something. I loved to see them be happy although I was not the one providing the service. I also weirdly loved resolving conflicts clients had to reach a resolution until I saw them satisfied.

“Would you eventually see yourself doing hair?” they’d say. “You seem to always ask the right questions and know exactly what clients want.”

“Never” was my answer. I loved the connections I made with people, but for some reason doing their hair wasn’t a service I could see myself providing. However, I knew I didn’t want to be a receptionist forever, so I had to really think about what I could see myself doing.

I came to the conclusion of real estate on my own, looked into it more, and fell in love with the industry before I even delved into it. With no hesitation, I took the steps to get myself licensed and have never been happier! I look forward to using my marketing skills, selling skills, and interpersonal skills to continue to make more clients happy, real-estate wise
